b'01STRATEGIC GOALS Goal 1: Aboriginal OrganisationA MESSAGE FROM OUR CULTURAL LEAD, REBECCA STONEYamma! As a proud Wiradjuri-Darkinjung woman, I bring a deep connection to my heritage, shaped by my roots in Dubbo, Gilgandra, Wellington and Armatree and my involvement with the Darkinjung Local Aboriginal Land Council. My career, focused on uplifting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across VIC and NSW, has fuelled my passion for fostering cultural awareness and strong relationships within the communities we serve. A key achievement this year has been increasing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staffing across our enterprises. We now employ 82 people who identify as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person, with 26% of Community Services workforce and 21% of Resource Recovery Australias workforce identifying as such. This reflects our commitment to enhancing representation and creating a more inclusive workplace. To improve cultural education, our leaders participated in cultural awareness training. This initiative equipped our leaders with the knowledge to support a culturally respectful organisation, including understanding cultural protocols, addressing unconscious bias and valuing diverse perspectives. Weve encouraged greater participation in cultural events like NAIDOC Week, where our staff proudly wore Community "Im pleased toResources NAIDOC T-shirts as a symbol of connection and support for ongoing reconciliation.
