Most significantly, this year Community Resources was formally recognised as an Aboriginal-led organisation. This milestone reflects our history, values and purpose, and acknowledges the many Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people who have worked side by side over many years to build an organisation that cares deeply for people, community and Country. It is a moment of great pride, but also a responsibility that we embrace with humility as we continue to listen, learn and work in partnership with Aboriginal communities.

Together, we continued delivering on our purpose of creating jobs that care for people and Country. We created 768 employment opportunities, diverted more than 20,000 tonnes of waste from landfill and delivered more than 70,000 instances of community services. These outcomes reflect the commitment, skill and care shown by our teams every day.

Another highlight was the continued growth and momentum across our organisation. We secured more than $82 million in new and renewed contracts and strengthened our financial sustainability. New business growth included the Helping Hands Broadworth Homes initiative, expansion of Resource Recovery Australia operations in New South Wales and Victoria, and increased mattress volumes through new commercial agreements within Soft Landing. This growth provides greater confidence in our future, supports long-term planning and investment and creates more opportunities to expand our impact in communities across Australia.

We continued investing in our people and strengthening the foundations that will support our future success. We focused on building organisational capability, creating opportunities for learning, development and career growth, and supporting our workforce to thrive. We also strengthened governance, risk and compliance practices and continued building a more proactive approach to workplace health and safety through improved systems and processes. Together, these efforts create an organisation that is accountable and committed to continuous improvement.

Importantly, the past year also reinforced the strength of our culture. Whether supporting customers, working alongside community partners, caring for Country or helping one another through challenges, I continue to see our values of Authenticity, Fairness, Kindness, Bravery and Sustainability brought to life every day. These values remain at the heart of who we are and guide the decisions we make as an organisation.

FY27 will bring opportunities and challenges alike, but we enter it from a position of strength, supported by a clear strategy, growing capability and a team united behind our purpose. Together, we will continue creating jobs that care for people and Country, strengthening communities and building an organisation that future generations can be proud of.
