Community Resources is a national Aboriginal-led not-for-profit and registered charity driven by a clear vision: everyone in meaningful work, connected to Country and community.

We operate social enterprises and deliver community services, creating pathways to meaningful employment, caring for Country and strengthening communities. Thank you for supporting us.

Our Story

Founded on Worimi Country in 1987 as Great Lakes Community Resources, we began as a community development organisation creating training and employment opportunities for local Aboriginal people experiencing disadvantage. Over the decades, our reach widened, our impact grew and our communities thrived. In 2017, we became Community Resources.

Today, we operate some of Australia’s largest social enterprises and deliver place-based community services. Through our work, we create pathways to meaningful employment, care for Country and strengthen communities.

Our Mission

Create jobs that care for people and Country.

Our Vision

Everyone in meaningful work, connected to Country and community.

Our Values

Authentic, fair, kind, brave and sustainable

Community Resources is a national not-for-profit and registered charity with a clear vision to make a stronger, fairer Australia.

We create jobs that care for people and Country, we keep waste out of landfill, and we provide community services to those who need them most. Thank you for supporting us.

Our Story

Our story began on Worimi land on the NSW Mid-North Coast in 1987. We were set up as a community development organisation, Great Lakes Community Resources, to provide training and employment opportunities for local Aboriginal people experiencing disadvantage. Over the subsequent years our impact has widened, and our communities have thrived.

Since 2017 we have operated as Community Resources. We now run some of the largest social enterprises in the country and deliver a range of community services. In FY25, we gave employment opportunities to 960 people across New South Wales, Queensland,Victoria, Western Australia, the Australian Capital Territory and the Northern Territory.

Our Mission

Create jobs that care for people and Country.

Our Vision

Everyone in meaningful work, connected to Country and community.

Our Values

Authentic, fair, kind, brave and sustainable
